Privacy Policy

This policy explains, in plain language, what data Video Transcription Service collects when you use the site and how we use it. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be transparent about the rest.

What we collect

• Video URLs you paste. Used only to fetch metadata and transcribe audio. Not stored beyond the lifetime of the transcription job.
• Your IP address and user-agent. Hashed together to enforce the per-month free-tier quota. Not used for any other purpose.
• A browser fingerprint hash. Same purpose as above. Computed in your browser and sent with each request.
• Payment email and metadata. Only if you complete a Stripe Checkout. Stripe stores card data on their side; we never see it.

What we don't collect

• We do not store the transcripts on disk for paid jobs longer than 1 hour after the download link is generated.
• We do not have analytics or third-party trackers beyond Google AdSense (when enabled) and Stripe (when you check out).
• We do not sell your data.

Third parties

• Google AdSense — serves ads on free pages. Google's privacy notice applies to those ads.
• Stripe — processes payments. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• OpenAI — used as a fallback transcription engine if configured. Audio sent to OpenAI for that purpose is subject to their privacy policy.

Your rights

You can request deletion of any data associated with your IP or payment email by contacting [email protected].
